Introduction. Interested researchers in mechanisms by people making certain food choices continues to increase. Understanding the factors responsible for food choices allows for a better alignment of actions taken in this regard. Unfortunately, still points to significant difficulties in this area, which result mainly complexity of the process of making food choices. Aim. The aim of this study is to identify the determinants of food choices made ​​by women with excess body weight. Material and methods. The study on the determinants of food choices of women with excess body weight was carried out on the basis of an anonymous, voluntary questionnaire proprietary design. The analysis included 97 questionnaires were filled by women between 19 and 26 years of age from the Silesian province. Results. Factors that the respondents are of utmost importance when making their food choices depend on the material status and family situation of the respondents. Conclusions. Among the most important determinants of determining food choices of women with excess body weight lists the material status of the respondents and their family situation. The respondents making choices mostly driven by taste and appearance of products purchased and their price.
