Fraza do cytowania: Guźlecki A. Payers to health resorts. Polski Przegląd Nauk o Zdrowiu. 2016;1(46):122–126.

Two references by Artur Guźlecki devoted to the tradition of child’s and adult health resort treatment in Poland also touch on the question of funding health resort treatment in Poland in old times of Poland’s partition till the times of the bygone political system in Poland. The answer to the question about funding health resort treatment in older and contemporary times seems to be clear‑cut. The answer to the question about funding health resort treatment in contemporary times, i.e. who and how pays for Poland’s health resort treatment will constitute the subject of the thesis. In the text the fragments of legal acts taken from the Internet Legal Acts System, which are now in force in Poland and answer the question about who, according to Polish law, pays Polish health resorts and how payments are made, will be cited and analyzed. By means of the method specified at the beginning of the paper a research hypothesis will be verified which says the sources of funding Poland’s health resorts include: a) income of the specific health resort gained as a result of commercial activities, b) climate or resort fee taken from health resort patients, c) state subsidies to health resorts, d) income from the state contracts of health resort services, e.g. by the National Health Fund, e) EU subsidies. In author’s conclusion it is stated that the hypothesis presented in the article research project included in the section „Material and Methodology” undoubtedly and totally proved to be correct.

Key words: payers to health resorts, health resort patient, the State, the European Union.
