Introduction. Health is a basic need in households. Aim. The paper presents the changes in the level and structure of expenditure of households in health in polish households. Material and methods. The source of information used in this study was the systematic analyses of household budget survey by the Central Statistical Office and database Eurostat. The study uses the canonical correlation analysis. Results and conclusions. According to the analysis the most important factors influencing these kind of expenditure are the following variables: the age of household members, the family disposable income and educational level of the family head. In Poland in households of retired and households with the highest income were the highest expenditure on health.
